Our idea

Who is 'our'?

What is the 'idea'?
Once upon a liftime, there were two guys who were backpacking seperately in Cambodia. Both were fed up with travelling by bus, and were looking for doing something more adventurous. By co-incidence they met in Siem Reap, close to the world famous Angkor Wat Conservation Sites. Our idea to ride from Ho Chi Minh to Hanoi by bycicle was born.

Fund Raising

Next to the desire to travel slightly more adventurous, we came up with the idea to link our trip to fund raising for development work. Cambodia is still a country in need, and we visited a few organisations in which we believe.

The main thing these organisations have in common are;
- Projects initiated by locals - not by Westerners
- Projects around capacity / skill building of locals
- Organisation is community based
- The organisation has to become independent and self supporting within a certain time span
- They co-operate in order to share best practices

How can you help?

Everyone is free to support our initiative by donating whatever he/she is willing to donate. No obligation and no restriction on amounts.

How can you make it more fun and more interactive?

In order to make the whole trip a bit more interactive with and among you guys, we would like you to challenge us during our ride.

We would like you to be creative.Challenge requests might include information which can help you to come up with funny challenges.

Exampple of a challenge:
de one day, transporting 10 eggs without braking them...

What happens afterwards with these challenges?
Out of the list, some challenges will be choosen and executed (at least try to). Unapropriate and unsafe challenges will not be selected. We are still in a foreign country...

Feed back will be given to you by blog - pictures and blog topics.

Cycle. From Ho Chi Minh to Saigon.
Fundraise for educational programs.
Try to execute your challenges - as fun factor.
Keep you up to date on what happens by updating blog - uploading pictures.
